System Architecture
Cloud-Based Platform
Gabnet 365 is a cloud-native application accessible from any device with an internet connection:
Benefits:
- 24/7 Availability: Access your business data anytime, anywhere
- No Infrastructure Costs: No servers to maintain or software to install
- Automatic Updates: New features and security patches applied automatically
- Disaster Recovery: Built-in data backup and redundancy
- Scalability: Handles growth without performance degradation
Multi-Location Support
The system is designed for distributed operations:
- Location Management: Track inventory, sales, and services by location
- Centralized Visibility: View consolidated data across all locations
- Location-Based Access: Users see data relevant to their assigned location
- Inter-Location Transfers: Move inventory between locations seamlessly
- Location Performance: Compare metrics across different business sites
Multi-Tenant Business Isolation
Gabnet 365 now supports multiple independent businesses on the same platform. Each business is created as a separate tenant with isolated users, roles, locations, products, customers, suppliers, inventory, transactions, reports, notifications, and audit logs.
How it works:
- System Owner dashboard: Platform owners use
/systemto create, activate, suspend, and review businesses. - Tenant dashboard: Business users use
/dashboardfor their own operations only. - Tenant-scoped data: Business records carry a tenant identifier and are filtered automatically by the authenticated user's tenant.
- Tenant Admin role: Admin users manage all locations inside their own business, not the entire platform.
- System Owner role: System Owners manage business onboarding and platform-level status, but do not use operational tenant modules by default.
Modern User Interface
Built with latest web technologies for optimal user experience:
- Responsive Design: Works perfectly on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
- Intuitive Navigation: Easy to learn, reducing training time
- Real-Time Updates: See changes immediately without page refreshes
- Modern Aesthetics: Professional interface that employees enjoy using
- Accessibility: Designed for users of all technical skill levels
Technology Foundation
Core Technologies
Gabnet 365 is built on enterprise-grade technology:
| Component | Technology | Business Benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Web application | Next.js 16, React 19, TypeScript | Fast, responsive user interface |
| Styling | Tailwind CSS v4, Radix UI | Consistent, professional appearance |
| Backend API | External REST API (BASE_URL) | Centralized business data and rules |
| Data store | MongoDB (backend) | Flexible storage on API server |
| Authentication | JWT in httpOnly cookies | Secure session via /api/auth/* |
| Data layer | Server actions + API route proxies | Reliable server-side operations |
Why These Technologies Matter
Next.js & React:
- Used by Fortune 500 companies (Netflix, Uber, Airbnb)
- Fast page loads and smooth interactions
- Excellent mobile experience
- Future-proof technology with long-term support
TypeScript:
- Catches errors before they reach users
- Easier to maintain and enhance
- Industry standard for enterprise applications
- Better code quality and reliability
Backend API:
- All business records live on the API server (not in the browser)
- The web app validates input and enforces permissions before calling the API
- Supports bulk import, notifications, and multi-location operations
Application architecture
Browser → Next.js (App Router) → Server actions / /api/* proxies → External API (BASE_URL)
↓
auth_token + auth_user cookies (JWT session)
Environment variables:
BASE_URL— server-side API root (e.g.https://api.example.com/api/v1)NEXT_PUBLIC_BASE_URL— client-side API access where neededNEXT_PUBLIC_SITE_URL— public site URL for SEO and links
